The layout is not good for a site of papers and technical reports

This is an issue of art or UI design.

The graphical or UI layout of the site is indeed cool. It's very useful for showing design or art works. But I don't think it's good for collections of papers and technical reports. I think it's better to use a cleaner and more structural layout to show academic and technical posts for readers to browse and search.

Also, most posts don't need a feature image to show on home page or post list. The size of the images are too big. Removing them will make the site cleaner. Let alone most feature images are the same:
