Serene Seasons problems

When it is mid wet season it is supposed to rain in hot biomes. When I enter a hot biome I can only see ground splashes and hear the rain but there are no rain particle effects. The moment I exit the hot biome and enter the regular one, particle effects are visible. This is shown in the video below.
I'm playing on the latest version of the mod (weather2-1.20.1-2.8.3).

Do you have global weather enabled?

If you mean the "overcastMode" option in Misc config file, I tried setting it on both true and false and same thing happens.

Also I forgot to mention, there is no snow build up during winter in biomes like plains, but the snow particle effects work.
