Checking for updates failed: network problems

Error appeared: "Checking for updates failed: network problems" - happen every time now and can't update anything while zypper dup -yl works perfect - no network problems.

Another problem tw-updater-plasmoid freezes at the end of the day with wait spinner and can do nothing to unfreeze it, update, etc. Only killing it or killing zypper helps.

1st: strange repo was added by zypper which caused the problem:

"file-da8981aa".
Specified path '/tmp/YaST2-23552-G4yZt6/tmp_install_repo' is not a directory: file:/tmp/YaST2-23552-G4yZt6/tmp_install_repo

Removed it - works fine now.

I've found this page

but no info on what could be the cause.

Anyway my applet should be enhanced to better handle errors like that, but unfortunately I've no time for it at this time.
