Requests from users for additional data #325
Comments
Which users? Parents? Teachers? If you put those on there, maybe add something that explains what the heck they are / why anyone should care? Or hide them in a box that says "administrative use only" like they have on the bottom of forms to inform you that it can be safely ignored. |
No need to be presumptuous @techieshark. The requests have come from department staff in the former and schools in the latter, both of which groups are stakeholders in the project . I am researching how best to implement/not implement, hence why no code changes have been submitted. |
Movement at the station. The AMU was vetoed by assets exec director. the requests came from this area, and apparently staff are able to dig up the codes elsewhere. School codes have been added but the new version is bouncing around ITD and c&e - should be available to users soon. |
In other news - we have had a request, from school staff, to add:

Thanks for digging into and reporting this update, Lilith. If I recall correctly, postcodes are stored in the schools data so technically it'd be not challenging to add that (just need to figure out where to put it). I'm curious though why someone needs to know the postcode for the school? Is that like in case you want to send a snailmail? Fax numbers seems sensible (pretty common to include in contact info, esp for gov) and parents might want that too (for the occasional parent that actually still uses a fax machine). |
Agreed. Easy to implement, just need to find a spot. Yeah, not sure exactly why they want the post codes. It was something important enough to reach out to us though - so I think we can assume there's a decent reason. |
Users have got in touch with us to request some additional data:
Neither of these have issues around being public, so adding them into the school display info is fine. We have the data for both, but the ami is in a static format.
