I think all the Sinhala keyboards for android is a failure. They have just taken the Wijesekera layout and put it on small screens. Maybe we should re think this for smaller screens.

I wrote a proposal for this yonks ago - http://zen.lk/2013/05/21/a-sinhala-touch-keyboard-for-mobile-devices/ 😀 . you're right, qwerty wastes a lot of horizontal space in portrait mode
