In both versions you're running modified Forge environments. If you ran these packs on JUST Forge, I bet you wouldn't experience this. Thermos is a continuation of KCauldron, which was riddled with bugs to begin with. Sponge currently doesn't play well with most 1.10 packs, either.

Reproduce this crash in vanilla Forge and upload that log.
