Move homepage contents to other page

Basically, I want to make a landing page on index.html whereas the current homepage (which shows a list of posts with pagination) move to another page supposedly Blog/Archive/etc.

I tried to copy past the content of Index.html to archive.html in layouts inside theme folder but the pagination doesn't work as Hugo gives some error while trying to build it.

Afaik, taxonomies and such pages should have access to Pagination though. If someone knows the right way, please help out.
