It would be very good to get a number proportional to something like number of ions per time unit being displayed in the GUI.

Should really be a running average of ions/shot – possibly plus a unit-choice for the user, which then could be shot/trigger, s, min, etc. ;-)

Btw., should this be in pymepix-viewer, CMIdaq, or both?
