if necessary, i vote for hosting elsewhere and linking to projects... but not sure of a mechanism that would work easily... |
One scenario is for us to have a cloud drive somewhere (we may have to
manually manage access to individuals) where they could upload, say their
Methods doc, and the links show up on the project page on the ADP side).
Ideally doi's would be created too... will have to investigate
this options more.
On a related side note, could the Project description be HTML or MD enabled
so people can add real links to that ?

I would like to see people use protocols.io to load their methods and then
we link to that..... (at least for methods documentation).
can we explore the projects HTML/MD a bit further.... to do this right, we
would need a preview pane and some helper tools (as other apps do)... but
this gets more involved than it is worth??

that looks interesting... I'll check it out
also: possible CDL's escholarship repository? I would need to contact them.
Also thought of Figshare?
I think a 3rd-party solution is fine for this purpose but would then
emphasize a need to allow hyperlinked content in the project abstract or
maybe a new project setting for "related links" for these external URLs

External request: allow word docs or other additional metadata or supporting information be uploaded, or if hosted elsewhere, linked to projects
this doesnt appear to be to be a need in Geome projects so floating this out there for discussion
