Instead of moving the query across to Spatial as expected, it fails to parse the species name (which includes a few interesting characters) and winds up in Spatial as a text search, resulting in unexpectedly matching records from many species.
It's possible to manually add this species within a Spatial session and that works as intended, so there is a work-around.
