Issue with NSW AVH images #211
Comments
This is an images-service issue that is most likely the result of a failed ingest many years ago. It's been reported here #201 |
Looks like the thing to do is reingest NSW AVH then. I suggest we do that but check whether the images are available to us online or whether Niels did a temporary image load. We may need to reauthor the multimedia extension to use the main image service URL as the |
Yikes, 390K images. Check for duplicates. Also @joe-lipson can you advise on when it's safe to hammer the image service with a large load like that? |
I'll check with the team on timings, normally I'd say now but it looks like the usual iNat ingest came in a little later this week and is still running |
I don't think re-ingesting the images is the way to go If the original image is present and only the tiles (for the image viewer) and/or the thumbnails are missing. This is because the re-ingest process will compare the new images with any existing image and skip them if the image exists already. I'll start a script that can find missing thumbnails and/or tiles and queue just the missing "artefacts" for generation once the current batch loads have completed. |
This is not an avh-hub issue but seems like an image-service one, so I'm moving it to that repo. Note: those images are still not showing anything when you click the thumbnails, so appears to be broken still. |
