User of the ALA use the search function to find pages on stuff other than names - WP pages, Blog articles, KB articles, Collection pages, spatial layers, etc. These are only being indexed when we release a new taxonomy (or update) which can be many months apart. The sources need to be synced to the search index on a daily or weekly basis.
Indexing of non-taxonomy sources should be decoupled from taxonomy indexing so they can be run and switched over without human intervention. Ideally managed by Jenkins.
@TaniaGLaity : This doesn't have anything to do with names - it's a bie-index issue unrelated to names. I know that bie-indexing happens daily and weekly and has been separated from the building an index from the taxonomy, so this may already have been impliemented - but I can't say for sure.
