Overall Group Reflection

Overall, the completion of Assignment 3 went well for Group 30. We believe as a group that there have been significant improvements since the first assignment we completed as a group. The first area we saw improvement in was the overall communications of the group throughout this entire assignment. Multiple meetings were organised by our project leader Mark throughout each week in the completion of this assignment. Also, communications were kept constant across various platforms such as Discord, Teams chat and emails. All operations and agreements were made clear and constantly recalled to all members of the group throughout the duration of the project.
Setting deadlines was another area in which Group 30 has improved dramatically from our previous experience. Mark did an excellent job organising the team and proposing deadlines for draft submissions to be completed. Doing this greatly helped the entire team, as it gave all members visibility of what each other was doing and allowed a far greater level of ideas and suggestions to be put forward.

What we did find surprising, was how much smoother the entire process became just by setting deadlines for drafts. It gave us more time to edit and make changes to the overall work that had been completed, allowing our team to feel in more control and less stressed about the assignment's deadline.
Another excellent improvement in our group has been real time collaborations. Throughout the past few weeks, members have been getting together to carry our tasks and complete sections while collaborating with one another in real time. Teams has contributed to making this progress much easier for all members, we have been able to talk in a group conference on Discord while also looking and working on the same documents. This allowed the completion of sections of work to be done much easier and faster than to the previous assignment.

We have learnt a great deal working together in Technodrome Inc and collaborating with one another. We still believe that the area that could have been most improved on is individual accountability such as completing tasks when we have a set deadline or made a commitment to a set date. What we have taken from this experience is that equal collaboration and effort in the work, makes the greatest difference. By working together, adhering to deadlines when required and staying in constant communications, all this, when done by everyone, it improves and motivates the team. This is a lesson we hope all members will take from this and apply it to future work and collaborations.

Working on Assignment 3, I do believe that what went very well was the collaboration within team members to team members. I was incredibly surprised to see how beneficial it was in the completion of the work overall. During this assignment I thoroughly enjoyed working closely with Kim and Mark in our collaboration sessions and I'm assisting one another in completing required tasks.

Through this experience I have learnt the importance of contributing and complete each allocated task within the group. By doing this I have seen the benefits and more eased atmosphere it can bring to an ongoing project, it has also shown me to be more responsible in the completion of my allocated sections. I do believe that too is the area in which we do need to improve on, to not leave tasks to the last minute and to complete tasks when required by the set deadlines.

Overall, working with this team has been a wonderful experience for me. All the members have been a pleasure to work and collaborate with, they all have so much potential to do wonderful things in the future and I wish them the very best. I hope to have the opportunity to work with them again.

With the same faces on a different day, Technodrome got straight into the ideas and planning for Assignment 3 without delay. With Assignment 2’s feedback fresh on our minds, we hooked straight in to trying to ensure we didn’t relive the same hurdles in Assignment 3 as we did in Assignment 2. Meetings were booked, jobs set and timelines were planned out for the whole group and we set about it. It was surprising and great how quickly everyone got on board with this, and Mark settled into his role as project leader very well.

Communication remained a strong factor for the majority of the group and even with the odd absence of a team member during a meeting, the remainder of those attending would be fully aware of where each person was up to with their allotted tasks.

During Assessment 3 I do not believe that GitHub’s log of activity accurately demonstrates the amount or level of work that each team member did. The reason for this is that the vast majority of some team members work was completed outside of the webpage, and only needing limited formatting on pre-existing/templated pages once the information was inserted. This is a pat on the back for the team as it demonstrated the level of thought and planning that went into Assignment 2, which made this Assignment much easier to progress through.

Unfortunately, it was not all smooth sailing. While communication was markedly better this time around, there were still delays past prescribed deadlines that were not discussed with the team or with Mark. A small annoyance in an otherwise problem free project.

I look forward to the opportunity of being able to work with the members of Technodrome in future projects.

Assignment 3 has been a pleasurable experience collaborating with the team. What went well from day one was assigning Mark to be our project leader. This helped the team create a structure and have suitable deadlines for draft content and final deadlines for our finished product. It also implemented a high level of communication between team members through the use Microsoft Teams & Discord, helping with collaboration.

Although deadlines were put into place, it was disappointing that not all members understood the fact that these are rules that we all agreed to during our first meeting. It places a burden on the team. This is something that we can still improve on and need to improve on as a team.

The main thing that surprised me in this assignment compared to previous assignments was the amount of interaction each group member had with each other, asking if anybody needed help within the group and throwing ideas around, it was an absolute pleasure to see. I have learnt that being involved within an efficient team helps take the stress off your shoulders because everybody wants to do the best for one another.

I would like to thank my group for the amazing experience that I have had working throughout these projects. I hope to be able to work with you all in the future and wish you all the best.

Assignment 3 has been a fantastic experience, the team has come a long way with communication, I have noticed Kim & Eddie working together
frequently on the same file using different colour text to distinguish each other’s work. Ash & Brendan have been in constant communication with me
as to where they are with each part of the project, I think it is safe to say the five of us make an incredibly effective team.

That said the team could certainly have benefited from more communication and adhering to deadlines,
it is a huge disappointment when a member of the team has so much potential to produce an excellent standard
of work chooses to not make the effort, relying on the rest of the team to pull the slack.

Overcoming team issues is something that we are most definitely accustomed to now and I hope it will serve all of us with our future projects.

As we end Assignment 3 I am a little saddened that the group will no longer be working together, each member is now
moving in different directions, I would like to wish everyone the very best moving forward.

We have all made some substantial progress individually and as a team in our collaborative work moving on from assignment 2. Having a better sense of task delegation, leadership, overall planning, and more efficient regular meetings. This has been reflected in a deeper collaboration on each document, better reflecting the overall team's vision. I feel we could expand our effectiveness if we had an even clearer delegation of roles and tasks. With certain roles taking chief responsibility for specific areas and others assisting with achieving those tasks. Again, we had a little bit of trouble being on the same page on some fronts, but we learned from our past experiences and handled this better this time.

Something that surprised me was the value of having regular scheduled meetings even if they felt a little redundant. It was always valuable to check in and give a brief overview of where we were. Keeping everyone feel more in the loop, even if there was an odd absence this still added to the positive teamwork vibe.

I have learned and was pleasantly surprised that people can be receptive to simple efforts made to make things easier for others, and that some simple overall coordination can go a long way to making larger projects less stressful.

I have learned that groups can, when tuned well to the strengths and weaknesses of individuals and the team can be significantly more effective. But only with experience and attention and effort paid to the details of how a team functions.

The GitHub logs don’t accurately reflect our group’s collaboration as we assigned more specialized tasks and activities. Leaving some of us to work primarily on producing written content, others focusing on design and video artifacts. With document formatting and finalizing of content being the responsibility of mainly a couple of members.

Assignment 3 was a less stressful assignment than the second for me. As it turns out, participating from day one can really ease one's mind regarding an upcoming task, rather than joining a group part way through. Who would have thought?

This time around a group leader was assigned clearly, Mark, who was responsible for driving the vision of the project and delegating tasks. As it was Marks project Idea initially and something that he has previously experimented with, the project was passion driven and I feel everyone could understand the vision for the project with this strong enthusiasm and clear descriptions. This was most helpful to produce content.

Areas that I would like to have improved in would be time management and collaboration. Production of content was delayed for drafts by me, and this appears to have affected other members' schedules inconveniently. While not intentionally poor, my time management requires improvement. Regarding collaboration, I often attempted to involve myself or add perspective in areas outside my assigned tasks but was met with disinterest and suggestions of continuing with my assigned tasks instead. I think its important to note that everyone works at different speeds, and mind set can play a large part in one's productivity. If I were feeling creative and expressive, I would have appreciated that were explored as it felt like my strengths and interests were not used effectively in this assignment.

Concluding assignment 3, I feel as a team we have delivered a great standard of work. It was surprising to see what areas certain members shined in, such as Edwins keen interest in graphic design and Kim and Marks mockup applications. I look forward to reading feedback from the assignment, and I would like to thank the team for this well-organized (with minor exceptions) and well produced assignment.
