hello,

can any other token except than EOS be transferred through eosio.token contract, as far as I can see it's used only and only for EOS transfer but I want to be sure.

On the EOS network, the eosio.token contract is only used for EOS.

The reference token contract, which the eosio.token account uses, can be deployed to other accounts and used to create other tokens though.
