Pamela would like to know more details on gamma and luminance calibration on the 2p rigs

I asked MPE today and we are waiting for their answer:
Here is my email:
Hi Colin and Alex,

One of the OpenScope 2022 team was curious about our screen calibration data for the neuronal recording rig.
This is because they want to compare their stimuli condition with existing published datasets.

Do you have access to some of this data that we could share? I think they are interested in luminance and perhaps the linearization that is applied to correct for gamma.

Thanks!
Jerome

This, I am not sure, I will let Colin and Alex comment.

OK, the calibration file says "GammaLuminance.37"
I was wondering if it should be "GammaLuminance.50" to go with monitor_name: "Gamma1.Luminance50"

It should be, this is how we should be requesting the calibration on the rig.

I notice that in the "regimen" I was sent it says
monitor_name: "Gamma1.Luminance50"

is this consistent with the calibration data I just saw?

but I do think this information needs to be findable

OK got it. The linearization looks great, the color balance doesn't really matter, the only piece of information I need to know is:

Optimal Brightness cd/m^2: 37

I just want to confirm what "optimal brightness" means, is this the max luminance when all three guns are on at 100%? Corresponding to ~14200 counts in the bottom right graph?

Thanks
P.

I don’t think you attached the report

Hi Pamela
Colin and Alex, cced, are managing the screen calibration process as you can see below

Could you give us a little more details as to what you need for understanding the stimuli ?

Thanks

Hi Jerome,

I’ve attached an example the report we generate after calibration of both luminance and gamma correction (the reports are all the same, this example came off one of the behavior rigs). If feel like sharing this will likely result in more questions; would you like me to get the information on the hardware we use for the calibrations as well?

Regards, Colin.
