Iterative Approach

Teams might take an iterative approach to developing their protective I/O Boards and enclosures. As an example, Teams may:

  1. Create or purchase a pass-through I/O Board for their Platform.
  2. Add custom connectors, connector orientations, connector positioning according to the function and position of the Platform within the MRC-Network.
  3. Add protection circuitry to the I/O Board if needed. Make any adjustments to the I/O Board that are needed to accommodate the protection circuitry.
  4. Add electromagnetic shielding and/or protective enclosure as needed.
  5. Share their I/O Board library and enclosures with other Teams.
  6. Re-use work next season.

Teams can engineer their bot and then engineer their MRC to fit neatly within the physical confines of their bot and/or the physical confines of the proper placement of the components of the MRC for maximum protection or isolation.

As with any other aspect of the DIY-MRC, Teams can rely on guidance and best practices provided by the Community.
