do you plan on releasing a 2.0.0-RC1 of this plugin as well so that we can test the combination? it'll be esp. interesting for us to know if there will be any (breaking) changes in metrics naming (compared to 1.x).

I am considering doing RCx releases. Especially if there are users that need to test RC of OpenSearch in their environment including prom plugin.

if it's no trouble for you it'd be great to have an RC of this plugin so that we can test the full setup. otherwise we can also initially test without it and wait for the final release.
