Given the delays we are experiencing in our CI, hosting a fleet of GH runners (fully customized for Covalent) might boost performance. Having dedicated runners would limit queue times and might result in faster run-times. If setup correctly, the infra could be a pool of reserved instances (load balanced). This could be a mix of on/standup instances configured to match our needs.
The images/AMI can be curated with exact versions of the necessary software using packer and can be version controlled.
