El código claramente funciona, y eso es muy bueno. Pero el siguiente paso es refactoring y se podría partir por un MVC o definitivamente separar el frontend del backend.

Yo banco por un API Rest y separar el desarrollo de SalasUAI como una App que se conecta a esa API. De esa manera podrían generarse muchas ideas nuevas para Apps que se conecten con este API para lograr DRY (todos ganan).
