lora/checkpoint/ etc very slow to load preview

I've been experiencing significant delays when trying to load previews in the Lora/Checkpoint/etc. tabs. Whenever I click on any of these tabs, the preview takes an exceptionally long time to load. To address this, I've had to reboot the server 3-4 times, but even then, it still takes quite a while for the preview to finally appear.

Is there any way to improve the loading speed or troubleshoot this issue effectively? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

This will fix it once it's ready to be merged. Meanwhile you can try it out (only if you know how git works):

git fetch --force origin pull/15530/head:pr-15530
git checkout pr-15530

Would this be the same problem I'm suddenly experiencing when opening SD via A1111?
Everything opens fine, no errors, but the UI doesn't work in that:

The Extensions tab shows nothing, even the preloaded extensions.
The checkpoints selector timer just runs and runs and runs.
The VAE selector timer just runs and runs and runs.
Even the Clip Skip selector starts out with the timer.
The Checkpoint and LoRA tabs won't load.

Windows 11 fully patched, checked my drives. No issues.
I had been running Python 3.10.9 for kohya_ss and ignoring the prompt when starting A1111, but when this started today I downgraded to Python 3.10.6.
This is a prompt even on a fresh, vanilla install of A1111 with zero extras.

I tried pulling an earlier version as noted above, but I guess I don't know how to launch that one because I'm still having the problem, or something deeper is broken, or that version is broken too? I just run web-user.bat from the command line.

that is exactly the same issue that I am experiencing.
and also if those two tabs do load some times (well all most all the time), it dose not load all of the files, its say loading like 10 out of 5K-ish files.

@freecoderwaifu While it looks really good, it unfortunately still does the same thing, but in a worse way. In the tree view, it shows a blank screen for a few seconds while scrolling down the list view. As for the card view, it also exhibits the same behavior as before installing the PR.

One thing I didn't mention before is that the blank card view area issue is related to the number of LoRAs and checkpoints I have installed. I have yet to pinpoint the exact amount that triggers this issue, but I currently have in excess of 5,000 LoRAs and about 400+ checkpoints installed. This number does not reflect the total number of files, as there are preview and *.info files as well. Considering these additional files, the LoRAs alone have in excess of 50,000 files.

Might be a browser issue like the comment below, I have 30k+ models (checkpoints and Loras) and everything loads in 3-5s without the slowdown I had before, using that PR.

Apparently this might be a Chrome issue? I'm going to try Firefox. Shame on me for not trying that as a troubleshooting step.

I am using FF, and have tried chrome, and M$ edge, as well as a couple other browsers, and all of them get the same result.

Interesting. Chrome is still broken for me, but opening the local host URL in FF and it worked fine. I’d expect other chromium based browsers to have the issue as perhaps the code gets adapted.

It appears this was fixed with the latest version of SD in A1111. It's now opening in Chrome. Thanks devs!

I had been using A1111 in firefox for a very long time until this problem affected me and it was very annoying. I've tried opening A1111 in a private browser window in firefox and it works perfectly. I don't know why!
