Comparison with prior art

Thanks for sharing your story in the blog post, and how you went from Vanilla JS to Vite + React as a Chrome extension boilerplate.

I assume you've searched for similar tools that already did the job rather than spend a weekend migrating your own side project, but found these tools lacking, so I'm curious how your project compares with them:

• extension.js, with cross-browser and Svelte/React support, actively maintained by a former Brave employee
• @Jonghakseo's Chrome Extension Boilerplate with React + Vite + Typescript (2.5k stars)
• @chibat's Chrome Extension TypeScript Starter (2.6k stars but uses Webpack)
• @sinanbekar's cross-Browser Extension React & TypeScript Starter

TypeScript+React Chrome extension starter packs have been around since 2020 if not earlier.

There's also the CRXJS Vite plugin, albeit apparently abandoned.
