Welcome to the 18F Design Methods Wiki!

We will use this wiki to share information about the Methods. The primary audience for the wiki is the 18F team who maintains the Methods day-to-day. 18F folks working on this might also want to check out this README (18F only) that explains a bit more about how we're managing work across multiple products.

If you’re interested in editing or adding something to the Methods, start at Contributing. That’s our primary source of guidance for adding to this project.

18F Methods content vision (working draft)

Our content helps civic tech folks outside of 18F apply our best practices to their own organizations. It also helps potential and current partners learn how 18F works on technology modernization projects and explain that to others. To make it easier for them to do so, our content should be concise, simplified, and step-by-step.

We seek to make our audiences feel confident and knowledgeable so that they’re more likely to apply human centered design methods in their own organization and/or hire a designer. When they do, we'll establish shared expectations of human centered design work across government and achieve improved public services, better technology, and better partnerships.
