[Feature] delete data before a custom date #82
Comments
Hey, I think you could make use of the data import and export function and fix the data manually. Export the data, edit the file with a text editor and remove all the wrong entries and then import them back. Of course this is not very user friendly, but apart from fixing this concrete problem, I don't see much value in having such a specific function or an edit function in general inside the app as something like that should not happen in general. |
Thanks, this is good enough for my use case. I never knew this app had an options screen. When you mentioned the export/import I started tapping around wildly on the screen until I finally figured out that tapping the step-counter at the top opens the options screen. |
hehe, yes thats true, its not obvious at all :D I liked to keep the screen minimal, but may place a small button somewhere to open the settings so that its not like a hidden feature |
Yeah, a small cogwheel icon would be nice. |
Simply exporting, editing and re-importing the data wasn't quite as smooth as hoped: |
For me MotionMate used to frequently turn itself off. Until I finally figured out to exempt the app from battery optimisation. This means I have months and weeks in the past where I did not walk at all, according to MotionMate, which skews my average distance per day statistic.
I would like to delete the data before I found out how to keep MotionMate running. The only way I see right now is to uninstall and reinstall the app, losing all data.
