I went through the long line-by-line process of enabling a NVMe storage pool on my DS1019+ tonight, but I was unclear how to create anything other than a RAID 1. If I run this script, will it allow me to recreate the storage pool with a different RAID? |

Yes. If you have 2 NVMe drives you'll get a choice of Single, RAID 0 or RAID 1 The script also has the capability of offering the choice of RAID 5, RAID 6 and RAID 10 for people with 3 or 4 NVMe drives but I haven't enabled it |

Oh yeah, that’s totally awesome and I actually just shared a couple of your repositories here with some friends who were asking. Although, re-reading my own post, I realized I was not actually clear with what I was asking. My question actually is: I already have my M.2 volume set up in a RAID 1 that I did manually following someone’s guide. I’m curious to know if your script will actually allow me to wipe that existing volume out and rebuild it in a RAID 0 or even JBOD? (I saw your other script that does JBOD as well, but I have a DS1019+, and don’t see it listed as tested.) If your script does not wipe out the existing M.2 volume, am I able to do that in the Synology Storage Manager app like you would any volume, then run your script? Using your script, what would be the correct procedure there? And thank you again for creating this. I will definitely be tossing something in your tip jar soon. Appareciate it. |

This script will create the storage pool in RAID 0 if you select RAID 0 when the script asks you select the RAID type. Note: The script actually won't let you run the script if there's already a storage pool partition on the NVMe drives. So you will need to delete the volume and storage pool from storage manager first. You're only the 2nd person to ask about JBOD, but I've never looked at how Synology creates JBOD. |

Right on, thanks! To be honest, I had never considered going JBOD until someone recommended it instead of RAID 0 for my purposes. I realized that might actually be a decent way to go… honestly not losing sleep over it though. These NVMe sticks are pretty cheap now, I’ll just upgrade if I need more space. Thanks again for your hard work here. Very well done. |

If you run https://github.com/007revad/Synology_HDD_db you can manage the M2 volume from within storage manager - if using DSM 7.2. There is also https://github.com/007revad/Synology_enable_M2_volume Personally, as you have a DS920+ and a DS420+ both running DSM 7.2, I would have used Synology_HDD_db or Synology_enable_M2_volume. |
